Drilling will open it up a bit, but without a tuner, it is going to run even leaner that it already is from the factory. When I drilled mine, i had a PCV, so I was able too do a little butt tunning to reduce the decel backfire, and shapen the throttle response. It also got a little better mpg. I looked at it as a very temporary fix, until I got my pipes in and was able to put the air cleaner on, then get it properly tuned.

most people that try drilling their pipes end up at some point just biting the
bullet and paying for aftermarket pipes anyway.
