Question 2006 /1600 Engine Oil Sight Glass

My oil sight glass has become clouded and it is very hard to see my oil level.. I have used Royal Purple Syn since break In. And always stay on schedule with oil changes.. Do I dare run a engine type cleaner like cars use, Hoping it with make the sight glass clear again..... Or could this be a Bad Idea.......... Does anyone manufacture a Dipstick type filler cap for My 06 Nomad 1600.. I want to be able to checkmy oil levels on trips... HELP !!!

Don't know what temps are like where you are or how long you are running the motor but run it hard like riding down the hiway for about an hour and see if that clears it up. My guess is moisture in the oil and not running it was long enough to burn it off. Common thing this time of the year in the cold climates.

Wish we could use a dip stick style oil level checker in our motors but theres no clearance for it. It would be much easier.

I agree! Sight glass has always been difficult for me to see!

It's is a bit strange that there is no dip stick attached to the filler cap like my Vulcan 2053 had.

So is it kind of cold where you are, and you are just noticing this...and you have not driven it much or for very long recently? Don't do anything until you run it down the road a few times. Could just be cold weather moisture, very common. It is a double pane of glass and the moisture is between the windows. Might have to go for multiple long rides to get rid of it. Sorry for the bad news.
