Oil in Spark Plug Tubes

When installing the E3 plugs I noticed some oil in the plug tubes.
So I removed both tubes and checked them for damage, holes, scrapes etc and tubes look fine.

Where is this oil coming from?

This bike was either made on a Monday or the previous owner didn't do much maintenance on it with the problems you are coming up with it.

Yes, or it is also possible that there was dirt not cleaned off on the seat where the sparkplug crush washer snugs up, or if you installed, removed and then installed again the same plug and you were over enthusiastic about tightening the plug and really flattened the crush washer. You could get a little blow by there, but it should show also on the metal part of the plug.

I tried that with the starter o-ring.

It wasn't worth the effort.

Very small difference in thickness cost me 2-3 hours between trying to get it in and getting the correct one from the stealer.

I ride this bike most every day,
When I got this bike back in August it had 21 K miles.
It now has about 37k miles.
I took a 7,316 mile 25 day road trip August 15th, 14 states, that included places like Memphis, Sturgis, Santa Fe NM, San Antonio, Galveston TX, New Orleans, just to name a few. Also been to the Dragons Tail, Cherahala Skyway etc.....
I did have to replace fuel pump, but other than that nothing really major, it still rides like the wind!

After you've replaced the O rings let us know if it fixed the problem.

New O rings in, and so far so good!
Very easy to replace. Plug tubes look good, so I am assuming I dont need to mess with the cam chain tensioners.
But the other day I noticed a small oil leak at sidestand, and sure enuff, clutch push rod seal had come out, so did I had to add silicone to the seal and reinstall it. Had to do the same thing with my 1500, Must be a common problem with these bikes.
