You can buy a Reckless for $350, or buy a Hoppe, Tsukayu, or other brand for $750+. You get what you pay for. I don't know why people don't understand this. If you want top quality, you have to pay for top quality.

I know where you're coming from. But when a Company advertise that their product is top quality and everyone else seem to brag on them, you expect more. I looked at the Tsukayu and it looked the same as a Reckless in the picks and a plain fairing is only $600 and if you take off the extra parts that they add your are only around $150 more, and I could not find enough reviews on them to justify the extra. So for the diff I can paint the reckless.
My only real issue with it is they advertise the gel coat as a finished product to use as is. And when its not and you talk direct to them they tell you its not really a finished product.
Gelcoat is a finished product on tub unit and look good. There is no reason that Reckless can't do this too. And stand behind how they list it as a finished product.
Right from Reckless site
Features:
- All fairings can be build to suit your need (with or without a stereo)
- True hand laid fiberglass manufacturing and gelcoat for a perfect finish
- Fairing arrives black gelcoated ready to be installed or painted

gel coat is meant to be the final finish when the fiberglass is done right. Look at any boat and you will see perfect gel coat and fiberglass work. The same should apply to a fairing.
You are exactly right.
