"Why did you remove the link" ? (post 42)

Because a lot of the posts had been deleted from the Delphi forum thread.

"the 2011 rings have a different part number from the 2010 parts, even though the pistons remain unchanged." (post 43).

The pistons may have remained the same but the rings did not ?

All of the areas that I have addressed with the mods have proven to improve my skoot and it really does show me how those improvements meet my needs and desires.

Each of us go our own way(s) and with this and other Vulcan forums, the members and the non-member owners we get to see Vaqs in various stages of modification.

I feel the same way about the damn stickers. That being said I think it would be too much orange without the flames breaking it up. They stay till I can afford a proper paint design. I do love the color though, I turn heads where ever I go.

Can they be taken off? I think Jared said that there is clear coat over them.

One thing you have to understand about the 'review' websites is that these guys review a LOT of bikes, and rarely just one specific genre. So after they step off of a ZX6R, they ride a Vaq and are going to complain about lean angle and brakes.

You have a great point, if I had just come off my Ducati or GSXR and jumped right onto Vaquero, I'd have the same. I got quite the shock on the brakes on the Vaquero, as in the amount of pressure required to stop.

I picked my 2012 Vaquero up last year in April new for 12 grand from a large dealership. My buddy just had to shell out 21K for his last year's Streeglide with 800 miles on it, then another 2500 for mods to make it nicer. Big difference in price and his bike is more cramped than mine and not as comfy. For a big bike the handling of the Vaquero is awesome and I never scrape my Roaring Toyz boards, ever, even on full lean. I simply keep the shocks up to about 35 psi and it yields more clearance. If you want a fast super handler, get a Ninja. The Vulcans are first and foremost cruisers and made for long haul comfort and relaxed all day cruising. Nothing like going all day at 75 or 80 in 6th gear in comfort and the big 1700s do just that and at my age, stretching my legs out is a must. With my T-bag tour pack on the luggage rack, I can easily carry everything I need for a week's worth on the open road. I know making the transition from a sporting bike to a big heavy tourer takes some getting used to, but well worth it. Ya kinda get spoiled by the comfort after awhile.

It does get looks lol. I stopped at local coffee shop, there were some Harleys, a streetglide and a roadglide, they said they liked the colour.
