Biggest risers on a 2001 1500 without new cables....
hey guys i was wondering what was the biggest risers you could install on a 2001 1500 carbed model g without changing any cables.

I added 4 inch with no cable or wiring issues. But they were straight up. Any set back will increase need for cable length even more. 2000 FI, Should be same configuration.

I think id-man has some 5 or 5.5 inch risers. He'll probably respond the next time he's on.

Thanks for the intro HwyRider - they are a whopping 8"! with stock cables and wiring. I had to drill out the aluminum triple tree for the larger bolt holes / very easy to drill, sorry I don't remember the size offhand. You won't be able to reinstall the factory risers without bushing the enlarged hole but who cares...now you can use any "Harley" aftermarket riser which are so prevalent. If and when I get around to upgrading to steel braided cables I'll add a couple inches length for some slack but even though these are pretty taught nothing is stressed and it's been working perfectly the last 2 seasons, about 12k miles over every kind of road.
