Hankook Optimo 4s on a 2003 Nomad

Hey folks,

I know tire threads are many here. I did a search but don't see much in regards to this tire.

Normally for the 2003 Nomad it would be a 195/60r16. The Optimo 4s only comes in a 195/55r16 or a 205/60r16.

Anyone have experience with this tire?

Thanks in advance

Yes, for a bike tire you are correct. I am referring to a car tire. :-)

The 195/55-16 is going to be 1" shorter and 1.77" wider than the oem size . The 205 is close to the diameter but it's 2.17" wider. Not sure either of those would work.

I do know the 205 will not fit in the swing arm of a 1500, there are some here who do run a 195 on a 1500.

I am currently running a Bridgestone turanza 195-60-16 tire (first pic) on a 1999 Nomad, stock swingarm + wheel

Next tire will be a Falken Zero 205-60-16 tire (2nd pic) on a modded swingarm and widened wheel also all fasteners or bolts intruding into the fenderwell area will need to be cut and ground flush to the nut, then of course rust proofed

To innovate rather than imitate !
The motor is 106" and Nomads are pretty darn heavy ,I myself am not a small guy and car tires give a whole lot of mileage, traction, wet weather awesomeness, and considerably less expensive

we've heard this all before.

The CT I bought was $140 and with new MC tire technology I don't see the advantage. Rode that tire for 5K miles and took it off. My Michelin Commander II's are MUCH better.

You didn't like it or couldn't adjust to it so you removed it in 5k and then assume it would wear out as fast as a motorcycle tire? $140 for even a 30k car tire is better than , $160-$175 10k (hopefully) motorcycle tire? These are all opinions yours, mine, ours, theirs
I was just answering the thread starters question about fitment of the tires he was possibly selecting

I'm just tired of spending $300 dollars for a motorcycle tire that lasts a summer and a half and less than 13,000km's.

I hear great things about the Michelin Commander II but it doesn't come in a size that fits my bike......

He's on a 1500 which has about 1 inch less bead width than the 1600's do. I am not sure this tire will work on a 1500.
