Rough idle "fixed"

Hey guys ! I thought it would be worth putting this out there just in case some else runs into the same problem .

For a long time I've had a problem with my bike running kinda rough . I had it in the shop a couple of times , checked every connector more than a few times , spent countless hours trying to find that F$^&%@ gremlin and pretty much lost all the hair on my head in the mean time.

Because I've decided this bike is a keeper and probably won't buy another I've replaced many of the parts including the wiring harness ( the bike is 14 years old and doesn't hurt to replace them anyway )

So here goes , Everyone thought I was nuts ! The dealer " it just runs that way " my friends " your just being paranoid " My wife " I think it sounds good "

So today I lifted the tank , propped it up on a block and fired it up . For some unknown reason I decided to reach under and wiggle the wires going to the fuel pump ( found a bad wire right at the base of the pump ). All of a sudden the bike started purring like a kitten. I can't explain it but I'm glad a found it .
Tomorrow I will solder new wires in place and then make it my duty to go and say " bite me " in a kind way to all who said "it's fine"

For those on the forum I would like to say a huge thank you !!! I've been reading this forum for 4 years and finally decided to join.
You guys rock and I appreciate the help and all the useful info.

Now to celebrate :
