Gas tank removal

When you remove gas tank on 1700 Nomad is there some sort of shut off inside tank so no gas will leak out through the hose when you unplug this from the tank?

The fuel pump is internal. No petcock on the bike. Just place a rag where you disconnect the fuel line. Only a small amount will drip out. Lift the tank off after the vent hose and electric plug is diconnected. Easy peasy.

And easier the less gas you have in the tank.
