Unexpected Road Hazard

Had quite a scare returning home from the Flood Run Saturday evening. We were westbound on 694 when someone eastbound hit 2 large orange construction barrels and sent them over the cement median into our path. One landed right side up along the cement median while the other took a bounce and fortunately went over the top of us and it was hit by a semi that was behind us. Definitely a pucker moment. I guess you never know where the next hazard will come from. Be careful out there and keep your head on a swivel.

It would have been hell if a safety product had sent you to the hospital.

Great to hear no one was hurt from this. It's amazing how things such at this one can happen in a seconds notice. No amount of vigilance could have prepared you for what came next.

Glade it missed you. While expecting the unexpected on a bike is a good precaution, some things you just can't plan for.

I have always been an advocate of appling power when in an emergency situation, wether I did the correct thing in applying power in this situation can be debated, the outcome cannot.
