No Classic cars,or cows today,but a nice ride through the forest anyway.With a coffee stop,and then a good pub lunch thrown in.

Hey Mick, notice in a cpl of your pics that the name on two buildings include the word "Arms". Are those pubs?

Yes they are mate.I believe it was a tradition started back in the 16th century or so, when we had feudal lords with different loyalties,to show a "Coat of Arms",in order to let any passing traveller know who the locals swore allegeance to.For example,the Turfcutters arms,meant if you messed with anyone in the locallity of the Tavern, you would have the local Turfcutters on your arse. A bit like the Sons of Anarchy avoiding a Mongols bar today.

I live in the sunny south mate,where a more discerning menu is available. I had a chicken breast in garlic butter & herb sauce,with a Rocket salad and new potatoes.You probably would'nt get that at Barnsley working mens club.
