Hey mick, no it continued to make the same noise clutch in or out. Appears I caught the last of the 3 washers(spring limiters) when tightening up. It must have bent before slipping into place. Everything else looked fine.

I got a real bottom end rumble,that stops when i pull the clutch in.I ought to pull it apart really,but i'm too lazy.

dab thick bearing grease on each side of each spring limiter (washers), the grease will act like glue to hold the washers together while you're installing the Nut

Thanks degreaser. I did use some chassis grease yet must have not used enough. Bad news now is it is our long weekend and I can't ride.

grease won't hurt anything, it will all melt away from engine heat, so whack lots of bearing grease to those washers

Put 385 kms on the bike today. Clutch doesn't really feel any different for stiffness when applied yet the friction zone has changed. Stalled it twice as no slip at all. All shifting was smooth. All in all, a good upgrade. Thanks to all for the great tech support. Cam chain extenders next.
