While I was traveling in western Tx. last year....it did make a good difference. But, I really realized the diff. it made when I was going thru the desert in Nevada....where the amb. air temp was 105-108.
I remember reading a post on here somewhere where they usually ride after dark there....now I know why!

Oops! Hit 9 instead of 5. It was a tie for the record high there of 125°. It had to be even hotter before I got to Needles, though.
I was wearing my Motoport suit with a cooling vest, which had me fully covered with helmet and gloves. It was hot but tolerable. The suit has a UV coating, which helped, ,too. A couple of times, I stuck my arm out so it was naked to the air. Felt like I was in a blast furnace and that was 2 - 3 degrees before peak temp. I was pulling a trailer with an 1100 Honda Sabre. I didn't dare go over 45 - 50 mph for fear of burning up the engine.
