I look at the first picture with the new paint and that is about as perfect as anyone could ask for. The balance, proportions and lines are perfect in my opinion. I bet you could sell a whole bunch of them as kit.

Was able to pick one up cheap from a totaled RG in Birmingham, Al. It bolts up to the neck with the reg. RG nose mount. The steel frame continues back, under the tank, along the frame, then attaches to the std. RG side mounting holes. I made a couple of brackets the went from the rear of this, mounted to the frame with rubbercoated u-bolts....but it was so close to my tank when installing, I was scared of screwing up my tanks paint. Sooooo, I just went with the crash bar mounts. You can make it work with a little heating and bending, I just chose the easier route....

Al,
Positively a home run here! Beautiful craftsmanship! Quick question.. do you have a "list of mods" you made and the steps Just curious. What brand/year of touring pack do you have on the tail end? Now you've created a completely new idea for hundreds of Nomad owners! Again.. great work! Login or Register to Remove Ads |

98-04 Honda Valkyrie tour pack. I picked this one because it wraps around the passenger, has speakers, has cool lights and the side profile matches the profile of the bags really well. I built a wompas style rack out of stainless.
Aftermarket Harley crash bar modified to fit and aftermarket Harley vented fairings. Harley Road Glide frame mounted fairing. I picked this because I always liked the shark nose and the spedo and tach are not mounted in the fairing. I was able to fill all of the gauge holes. (Outside temp, clock, electronic compass & USB charging port) I was able to run 6.5" speakers in the front and 5" in the rear. |

I have one question. Those lower fairings, (I´m not sure if they are called so) mounted on the crashbar. Are they made for harleys or are you able to find a pair of those that would fit directly on the 1500 Nomads crashbar?
