Tomahawk Fall Ride

Anyone here get to the Tomahawk Fall ride in Tomahawk, WI? Starts I believe on 9/14 and goes through 9/17. When there is nice weather, there can be an estimated of 20-40,000 bikes in the area for the weekend. We are looking to go for a nice ride in Northern Wisconsin on Saturday. My band is also playing two dates during the weekend

It is a good time, Lots of entertainment between downtown Tomahawk, to Bubba's big party out by the Nokomis Fire Hall, to Bonnie and Clyde's Gangster park in Hazelhurst. Plus great roads to ride on. We were able to get a full day baby sitter on Saturday so my wife can enjoy the bike as well!

Day one (for me at least) for the Tomahawk Fall Ride is in the books. My band played at a bar east of Tomahawk last night and there were at one point a bunch of bikes there and people. Was a fun night!

The last picture was towards the end of the night so the bar was emptying out :) Much better crowd earlier!

Today I have golf outing for work then we will be heading back to Tomahawk for the Thunder Parade and other activities. I'll post more pictures later!

Well, Day 2 and 3 are in the books (Friday and Saturday).

Friday I had a golf outing, but after, we got a baby sitter and the wife and I jumped on the Nomad and headed to Tomahawk for the Thunder Parade and music festivities afterwards. The weather this weekend was awesome, high's in the mid 80's and mostly no rain! That equaled a ton of people in the area, I'd estimate in the 30,000 range, but I guess I'm no good at estimating. There was just a lot more people than I'm used to do to the weather.

Thunder Parade on Friday night. Parade of bike is I believe a 15 mile route and ends in downtown Tomahawk. Lasted 30-40 minutes I would guess.

Pulled these pictures from Facebook.

After the parade, there were stages set up on both ends of main street. We hung around the West Stage and watched the Johnny Watt Band, then headed home about 9:30 pm on the Nomad.

Saturday proved to be another really nice day. A cold front was approaching Wisconsin and sparked a few morning showers, nothing too bad, did not require a rain suit. A group of 5 bikes, we headed for a 150 mile ride in Vilas County. Leaves are starting to change but a lot of green out there yet.

Then Saturday night, my band played in Tomahawk at a bar, and it was a great night, had a thunder shower which required about a 45 minute break as we were playing outside. Had a good crowd between 11 pm and 12 am after the downtown mainstreet bands quit.

Overall a great weekend. Sunday is a day of rest and football!
