Steering head bearings
What a pain, so much so that I got a bit impatient and started using my dremel to cut the bottom race off. I’ve included a picture. The question I have is did I screw it up so much that the race won’t seat or function properly. Thoughts?

I personal don't think so. As long as the race seats properly and tight like it should, the bearing should work properly.

I think it will be OK.
People using dremel tools where they shouldn't have ruined a lot of things.

I agree... OP should take care to level out (maybe with his dremel) anywhere where he's cut into the bearing seat, so that the new (All Balls) bearing is not tilted at all. It's not a high speed bearing, it just needs to be installed absolutely flat and torqued correctly.

DAMN! That Bearing must have really offended his sensabilities! Bad Bearing!!!!!
Reminds me of my cousin going squirrel hunting with 00 Buckshot.... Yea, while it was out should've added a notch to get at the lower bearing, too.... As long as the race is perpendicular to the shaft, all fully seated, and things torqued down, should not have any problems.....
