I'm able to, but it would probably be much more economical (considering back and forth shipping and all that) to take it to a local machine shop.

The usual cure is to replace the kickstand with a longer one from another Kawasaki.

I did the 800 one on my 06. Moved the pins and mounted it. Was to long so had to cut it and remove about 1" from it weld back together and grind the joint smooth. So has a spot that has no chrome. If you have a local welding shop they could do this for you.

You don't have the tools to change a kickstand ?
Find a kickstand and have a garage change it for you if you cant do it yourself.

Haven't had to do anything to my Nomad stand, but when I put taller front and rear tires on my Honda 1100 tourer it leaned more than I was comfortable with. So, I made a pad from hard plastic, drilled a couple of holes through the kickstand “foot” and used some chrome bolts. Worked like a charm.

Here is another idea. The Thunderfoot retractable kickstand puck.
