That's the part it seems no one has been able to determine what it is there for. For sure it is coming off my 1600 if it has no real function. Weight savings = higher performance!

Okay, enough with this part. Tomorrow it comes off. I cannot be held responsible for the consequences. It will probably turn this fat pig of a cruiser into a tire shredder. Stay tuned for up to the minute reports. Mothers, shield your children. Bikers, hike up your dainties and hang on. It's GO time!

It is the grounding point for a jumper cable.

Makes sense for that, but really only if Kawasaki had also provided a positive lug somewhere that didn't require removing both seats. But really any bolt or stud head on the engine could serve as a grounding point.

Removed the "Plate" and went for a ride. Easily gained 25HP! The bike has so much power I don't even have to start the engine to do wheelies and burnouts!

I ran a cable from the battery down into the right side cover and put a rubber cap over it. Now, one screw releases the cover and I can hook up a charger or cables.

Boy, this thing is fast since I removed that plate. How fast is it? Well, I can do burnouts with the front wheel.
