Aftermarket rear drive pulley?

(1700 Voyager.) Is there a cheaper option than the OEM Kawasaki's $600 pulley? At 109,000 miles I have developed a noise from worn/flattening teeth. I know about the Gates and other belt options. I don't really want to start a whole diagnosis thread, just part options.

The aftermarket barely acknowledges the Vulcan lineup, they certainly aren't going to mass produce parts that scarcely wear out before the bike itself does.

i have a brand new pulley in my shed. from a 2019 voyager.
i bought the bike new and had it triked before taking delivery on it.
its attacted to a brand new wheel and tire. but i'd be willing to sell just the pulley if you want pics and a price, email me and we will see what we can do

Hey Rick, gidday mate!

To the OP - 3w-lonerider (Rick) is a great guy to deal with, he's helped get new parts from his triked Voyager to me here in NZ.

And when you get your new pulley, make sure the belt isn't too tight. That's exactly how all the teeth had been chewed out from both front & rear pulleys on my bike when I bought it. (Sorry if that's "starting the diagnosis thread" you weren't looking for)

thank you for the kind words. hope you and your family are doing well. trike has 22,000 on it right now. so its definitely getting used..

Thanks for the inputs. And yes Peg, I have followed the forum since I bought the bike new in 2012. I do run about double the slack that the repair manual states. I'm about 1/4 mile from a hard surface road, so I don't know if that contributed to the wear. But I'm happy with over 100k service life. Always happy to receive shared knowledge and experiences here. Thanks all....

3w-lonerider came through big time, with a pristine like new pulley. He's a wonderful person to work with. We shared some experiences and he sold me some other bits too. I saved big $. Thanks

its one of the last ones that California sidecar done a couple of years ago.
it has electric reverse. also has independent suspension.
csc does not use the original drive belt. instead they used a new belt from the trans to a jack shaft then from the jack shaft to the rear.
in my opinion it takes the pressure from the added extra weight and splits in into 2 belts instead of 1 long belt.
this thing has a huge trunk.
sad that they quit making the kit for this bike.
when i called csc and wanted a voyager built they tried everything to talk me out of it because of the underpowered engine. after getting it i totally get what they were talking about. adding 400 pound to the rear of this bike and the added wind resistance from the wide fenders made the engine feel like it was powerless. but after ivan done his magic, the trike has all the power and get up and go that it needs.
rode a honda valkyrie for 20 years that had a motortrike kit on it. that thing was a power plant. but definitely happy i bought the voyager after i lost the valk in a fire.
