I'd bet money the guy had no training, or very little training. The bike got away from him, he very likely "steered" and the bike went the other way. By that time the brain freezes and too many bad things happen. That he wasn't wearing a helmet contributed to the results, but had little to nothing to do with the crash. Just the typical media responce to any motorcycle crash, "the rider was not wearing a helmet."

Would be a much more telling report if they said the rider's age, experience, what he rode before (if anything), if he had a valid motorcycle license. Tragic though, these kinds of crashes should simply not happen. WAY too easy for anyone to get on a large powerful motorcycle and assume they can handle it.

I always think of this video when I read a report like this. The guy on the vid claims he paid $24,000 for the bike must be back in the 90s), and I bet he didn't spend ONE dollar on rider training. And he obviously has NO idea how to handle a bike. Note the 1st thing does as he is taking off, gasses it hard, clutch fully out, feet on the highway pegs, on a freaking public parking lot. Bet he blamed anything but himself for the crash.
