The other problem I had was one touched on in a couple other threads briefly. The fairing was off just a bit around the headlight. I fixed this by shimming one side with washers and it squared right up.

Below is a picture of it before shimming.

Also I asked the painter what he thought about the quality of the prep work done to the fairing in regards to smoothness and thickness of the primer.

He gave it a thumbs up on both accounts. Said he was surprised because normally aftermarket parts skim in these areas on unfinished parts.

How'd you get the design on your shield?! I think that looks AWESOME! It'd look really good on my blue/silver bike.

Sorry just saw your question.

I bought that shield at an aftermarket chrome shop. You can find them online as well.

For a discount at most or all of our venders, you need to provide a copy
of your VBA certificate with your name and membership number.

I couldn't find an answer to the riser question. I was told this fairing wouldn't fit with the higher risers. Did you do anything special?

I just install mine and I have the phat II riser. I had to drill the mounting holes (on the fairing mounts) out alittle larger. Its tight but worked fine.

The Phat II riser have 2 mount location. Center and Offset. Mine is mounted with the center hole. This location sets the risers back towards the tank. Fairing would not fit if the risers were mounted in the offset hole.

I have a 1500 nomad. Could get you some pics next week if you need.

So I ordered mine three weeks ago, sent in the cert the day after and am STILL waiting on the refund for my discount. I have called several times and it's always, "yeah, I'm sure it's been refunded" or "Alex is out of town and he deals with that" I'm about sick of the runaround from these guys!

Called again today. Now they admit to not issuing it. New story is I have to wait for "Alex" to get back from vacation and then it'll be sent.

Wow
