Yes, I've read all that. I think his tire is too tall. I feel very comfortable with the new tire on my bike and don't see any issues at this time. I'll keep on the safe side although I did push it a little through some fast sweepers today to see how it felt. So far I can't tell much difference between this and my Metzeler on cornering and it felt a lot better on some loose gravel I ran across in one turn today.

Just a little update: I checked the tire pressure this morning and my gage said 24.5 lb. The shops gage said 26. I filled it to 27 and rode it in to work. It is definately stiffer and the bike tends to wander a little bit when going down the highway. I think I'll put it down to 26 (my gage) and see how it feels. One pleasant surprise I've noticed, is that when you pull up to a stop, there is no tendency to weave or wander. The thing just stays dead straight. This should help to make me look like I know what I'm doing ;-)

Since I have a 1500, no car tire for me AFAIK, but I helped my buddy convert his Vn 2000 over to the DarkSide a while back. Here's me, wondering if that big muther 205's gonna fit:

I know that wouldn't fit on a Nomad. I only have about 3/16" clearance left on the driveshaft side with the 195 width.

What's with all those tail pipes in your sig??

New update after a few hundred miles. Overall I still like the tire. However, there is one issue that I'm not too pleased with. On corners where there is undulation that causes the bike to bounce up and down, you get a rear end wobble, maybe caused by the flexing of the sidewall. The Metzeler bike tire didn't seem to have this problem. The wobble isn't alarming and doesn't cause any control problem, but it's there. On smooth corners (rough or smooth surface) the tire performs as well as the bike tire. If I notice anything else, I'll let you know.

Julie and I took a nice ride yesterday to check out the handling and feel with two up. I kept the rear tire pressure at 26 lb. The bike handled fine and seemed more comfortable than with the Metzeler. I didn't push it on corners, but there was no sense of lack-of-control or anything else that would indicate a problem. The ride is more cushy and the bike feels more solidly planted when going down the highway. It was a beautiful day, about 75 degrees with all sorts of trees, bushes and flowers blooming - nice time to be in east Texas.

Pablo, what shock psi & settings have you tried?

I usually have my shocks set at about 20 psi. I haven't checked the pressure since I put on the new tire. I should probably do that.

It was just a thought... I don't like the sound of that rear end wobble...

Overall the handling is pretty good with the car tire, but it's not as good as with the MC tire. The wobble is when there is bumps and bouncing in the turn. This is not a good situation with any tire, but the wobble is more pronounced with the car tire (IMO). Overall comfort is better with the car tire. Braking and riding on dirt or gravel roads is more predictable with the car tire. Longevity will probably be much greater with the car tire. I am going to stick with the car tire for my type of riding, but if I was frequently pushing the limits, I would go with the MC tire.
