[QUOTE=Nomad2010;715111]Has anyone noticed a decrease in gas mileage with the lastest ECU Flash upgrade [FV059C4B] from Ivan? The original and the 1st upgrade [FV059C2] I was getting better mileage 40 to 45 MPG, with the last upgrade I'm back down to 35-36 MPG. Bike runs great just the loss of MPG.[/

The engine was cooking! It did this for the entire trip. Next trip, everything was back to normal. I've only had it happen a couple of times, key off and restart seems to clear it up. I don't like doing that in traffic ...
Just got my ECU back today from Ivan. Exceptional service and turn around time. Plus, it was on holiday sale. Took the bike out for a 20 minute spin. I noticed the exact same concern you and others reported, namely the RPM's did not drop down when coming to a stop sign for an extended time (2 seconds?). So I just took her out again and first stopped for fuel. It has completely stopped doing the high rpm in gear when coming to a stop. It now does everything Ivan's website says AND nothing it is not suppose to do.

Just spoke to Ivan and he did say "I have gotten a few of these calls. I think it is the ECU learning the throttle bodies". Seems Kawasaki is a slow learner.

Very happy with the flash on my 2019 Voyager.

Very true, everyone wants to lug this bike, don't, it likes to rev.

Yup! I have a tach on my Nomad, she goes over 6k regularly and I still haven't hit the limiter...it's WHY I ride Vulcans, they can BREATHE!!! It's nice when riding Pioneer Pass or The Top of the World and being able to leave it in 3rd on the straights between curves. A Roadliner I test rode way back in the day had the torque of a Sherman tank but couldn't rev past 4k, felt like riding a diesel...all torque and no scream is not fun...

The 1700s came out in 2009. The 1500 and 1600 ran fine without a flash

I've had my ECU flashed by Ivan when I didn't have aftermarket pipes nor air cleaner. I am now going to install aftermarket pies, do I need to send my ECU back for an update?

No. There are two flashes. The first one is for 90% of the 1700's out there. There is a second flash for riders with certain pipes AND BAK (Big Air Kit) and who push the upper RPMs frequently. The main flash is good for 90% of bikes from stock through aftermarket pipes and air kits.
*IF* you are going to do pipes AND a BAK, talk to IVAN (Call), he is great to talk to and will tell you if you need the second variety.

Ride safe,
Smokier

One little correction! Right, there are two flashes. But the first is for the motorcycles with stock air filter and the second is for those with k&n ones. Whereas the type of mufflers doesn't matter.

Just got my ECU back from Ivan before the weekend to get in on his holiday flash sale. I keep saying it, stellar guy! Been itching to get the ECU on the bike and try it out. I've had Ivans tune on my previous yamaha and it was a world of a difference.

Stupid rain and cold weather....

Getting Ivanized

Going to be a bit too hot to ride this week so I am finally taking the plunge and sending my ECU to Ivan before they close for a month. Bought my 2018 Vaquero new and after 14000 miles of riding with the stock ECU it will be interesting to see the difference the flash makes.
