I had checked out the Road Glides when I was shopping around for a bagger, but I just couldn't stomach the price compared to the Vaquero. I have heard the phrase "you get what you pay for" (I'm sure everyone has), but it just wasn't happening that time.

The CVO Limted you saw is nice, but there is no way I would spend that kind of money on something that is going to get chipped-up and road-weery after it bounces off the walls of my trailer. A less expensive version will work just fine...
Fixed it for you, Greg! No need to thank me.

It is interesting news that Can Am made a new engine for 2014.
I wondered that since everyone knew 2+ years ago that Indian was launching new bikes this year if any of the companies would step it up. Now you can't prove it, but it sure is coincidence that HD kicked off Rushmore and Can Am beefed up. These are high $$$ bikes. If HD just threw out a new Sporty for 2014 it sure wouldn't be much of a counter punch.

I checked Indian's website today and they have announced many new Indian Dealerships. Check many of the Dealerships on their Demo Ride calender.

It doesn't appear to be a coincidence... It might have been, but I doubt it.

Competition is good for the consumer...

Exactly, these companies have great intel and knew a year before we heard of the purchase. Good, Bad, Right or Wrong Indian is getting tons of press and many magazine covers. Friends that went to Sturgis said Indian was the buzz. The manufacturers that are aiming at that 20K market had answer strong. And they all did. Even Honda's new Wing is strong. We consumers do win.

It can happen. There are a few companies that want/understand what they need to do to succeed, and will do it without asking for Govt. help. Just a few!

My experience

[QUOTE=elvis;499166]Wait a minute partner, don't cap it all off like that. Like they say, you can look at the menu, sample a few, you don't have to order.

Go to demos, try out different H-Ds or other bikes. I for one like to test a Victory and find out why they brag about those bikes so much.

I have taking a victory for a ride the cross country and the starship enterprise tour bike they were real nice bike's yes, I haven't had a chance to take an HD Ultra for a ride yet but will in the future. In all honesty when I got back on my nomad I couldn't really say that these new victory's were such a class above , I have done some mods to my Nomad such as fairing, bars and heated grips , but couldn't say I would trade the nomad in on one in a heart beat at all , I would also have to say ,I still think the HD has the best looking bike on the road ..

Never rode the two strokes. I understand their frames were worse than the KZ1000 frame, which was flexible when pushed. Sometimes the good old days weren't so good.
