Joel, you ought to know by now. Victory's don't wander far from base camp at rallies....

Envy is the art of counting the other fellow's blessings instead of your own.

Envy blinds men and makes it impossible for them to think clearly.

Envy comes from people's ignorance of, or lack of belief in, their own gifts

That is funny! If any one is interested in a longer day ride, then a trip to Yosemite Valley is about 180 miles one way.

I plan on going thru Yosemite on the way to LT or when at the ralley or on the way home or all three. We might get lucky and still have some water flowing at the Falls.

I was actually thinking about that Cliff. On the link I posted it shows to be 120 miles though. Never been to Yosemite, I hear it's beautiful.

Dave it is 120 to the eastern enterance. It is another 60 miles through the Park to get to the Valley. The Valley is in a small area. You have the Falls and Halfdome, El Capitan......

When there is water flowing in the falls then I rate Yosemite #1

If anybody gets the chance the Eastern entrance along the Tioga Pass is an excellent ride/drive/walk/hike. It was out first trip on the Nomad. In the Summer I would go as far as Tunnel View, take the photos and go back the way I came. Yosemite Valley is hell in the Summer.

Also, Yosemite Falls is almost always active. The rest of the falls being active depends on how much snow falls right now.

We're looking forward to backpacking from the Tioga Pass to El Capitan' and down Yosemite Falls into the Valley in Late September.

Stan, Yosemite Falls also depends on the snow fall. It will be "The Yosemite Wall" most likely by the end of July this year at the latest and if we don't get any late snow storms then it could go dry sooner. Yosemite Creek will still have pools of water, some big enough to swim in. The Nevada Fall and Vernal Fall flows year around.

2015 Tahoe Sign up

I rode through Yosemite on my way home from San Bernardino in 2009. I went from west to east over Tioga Pass. Stunning beauty. I have thought about running down there again too, but it would be a real long day getting there and back and have any time to enjoy it.

I was thinking that as well. I didn't realize it was that close to Tahoe.

Realistically, with butt breaks, 4 hours down to get to the Valley...a couple hours there....then 4 hours back. Leave at 8:00 am...back around 6-7:00 pm. Long day but probably worth it....that place is a real jewel.
