The tools are not very expensive. I run out of effort and just take it to the shop. One of the +'s of our move is that now the local Kawasaki shop is only 50' away. OK, so that's over the back fence, I still have to go around the block.

Jim,
Check out the Continental Vanco 2. It is a 195 65 16. At Eureka Springs 2 years ago, CheapB and WrongTurn looked at it and were impressed with the amount of tread on it. I'm closing in on 15,000 miles and it barely looks broke in.

waterman I just checked the web for Continental Vanco 2 and they listed 195 75 16 but not 195 65 16. How much of a difference would the there be between the 75 and 65 or was it just a miss print from your end?

You can build your own beadbreaker from a piece of scrap 2x4 there are instructions on the net. Tire irons are available for about $5.00 a pair. Thats all you really need, and plenty of how to's on tire changing are also available.

From what I read most break in a CT tire at 40 psi for 300 to 400 miles, right? And it seams that a lot of people use 3oz of dyna beads instead of doing a standard balance with rim weights. Comments?

Yep I believe 2oz will do, 3 wont hurt. Take the tire in the house the night before to warm it up. Or find out what I know about mounting a cold tire. A cold 205/60-16.

Looks like 3oz. Looks like the general public is beginning to understand going dark now. From the DynaBead site under "Motorcycles" and "Rear"...

Isn't that what Charlie Sheen said just before he lost the highest paying job on television.

Perhaps he wouldn't have lost that job if he had a car tire on the back of him motorcycle, hmmm?

Just got back from my first ride on the car tire. Rode a little over 80 miles on a combo of black top roads and hwy's. I am a very happy rider. Can't wait until I get enough miles on it to lower the psi and find the sweet spot.

TC's only against Darksiders because he's afraid to try it for himself, so he uses negative humor to justify his fears.
There you go Tim, you've been profiled.

Ok, let's look at this from a different angle. I removed a Dunlop Elite 3 and it was totally worn out at 12,600 miles. Cost to replace it with a new one was going to cost me $265.00. This tire cost me $90.70 shipped to my home. If it only lasts 6,000 miles I have saved money.
