I removed my Progressive air fork balancing kit.
It leaked between the adapter's valve stem and the aluminum billet. After fixing that it still had a slow leak that I could not find.

I think I'll try the valve stem extensions next.

My Chatterbox works but I would not buy one again. Have never talked to another MC on the chatterbox. I'm going to remove it and all of the accessories and sell it and buy a CB radio.

My 2001 Nomad 1500FI came with a hypercharger- I would never buy one if I get a different Nad. Looks nice, but is a pain in the "*ss" - (oh no, I mean right knee) LOL :)

Hi, I made larger lowers but for me they were not worth the effort and they were uuuuuugly. I can live with the stock ones.

I have only done mods in the name of safety or comfort. Risers, backrest, spotlights, and refectors on the bags. The exhaust, intake, and computer are all stock. If I want to go fast I borrow my sons sportbike.

Schoeney, I'm glad you started this thread...there are some great ideas here both of what to do, and what not to do. It is great to hear from so many about what they do like about their bikes and what they wish they would have left alone.

P.S. Did you get those O-ring highway pegs at Pro-Caliber? I bought a set for my '01 Shadow and hated them. I'll definitely save up for the longhorn dullies!

Here is an example.

I bought a pair of the round cheap ($35) highway pegs with O rings to grip your boot. I don't like the round shape as my boots want to slip down with nothing to catch them. I think I would buy the more expensive ones that have a heel rest.
I bought a pair for about the same price from JC W and they work great. Instead for o-ring like pads they are contoured and have a flat spot that does just fine. Adjustable and very tight fitting too, can't imagine needing more, but have never tried the others.

Rksaw..No, I got them at the Kawasaki dealer is Salem....can't remember the name but the one on the East side of i-5 (not the Honda Dealer).

I also agree that hearing everyone elses reflections on their mods is helping me decide what to do or at least change the pecking order of my wish my list. I was on the fence on some ,now I won't bother on a couple of them and feel better about ones I was leaning towards...please keep your thoughts on these mods coming guys + gals as it helping the rest of us!

Ells..I will take a look at the JCW site. Thanks for the tip!

I bought all clear lenses and then saw there were so-called clear bulbs that glow red. The bulbs look chrome and are not bright at all, they came out the same day.

I bought the front fender rail, but didn't install it. Nothing wrong with it, just didn't like the way it looked.

What mods wouldn't you buy again?

I have bought several bikes and modded each one with tons of stuff. When I bought my Nomad I decided that I am not adding mods to it unless it serves a function.

I did this for 2 reasons 1) I spend way too much money on mods. 2) The nomad has so many things already that come standard on it and they look so nice just the way they are, I didn't have the heart to mess with it.
