Which Battery and Where to Get It
Just installed a Yuasa YTX16-BS. Picked it up at the dealer for $102, which I figure is about the same as if I paid $80 plus shipping. Or close enough.
I own a small business in a small town and would rather give my $$ to the local shop whenever possible. After all, I prefer they not go away! Just my perspective...

Which Battery and Where to Get It
I bought my battery at batteries plus. It was expensive, but they have a good warranty, and it's given me no problems thus far.

Which Battery and Where to Get It
I chose the YUASA YTX20CH-BS for my bike the last two times because of the cold cranking amps was the same as the stock Kawi battery that came in my bike in 2000. I would guess that the size (dimensions) should fit both carb and Fi bikes alike.

Which Battery and Where to Get It
I was at a MC show in Greenville NC and saw a Shorai battery. It weighs like 1/4 of a lead acid and supposedly holds enough charge, unplugged, to start a bike after a year. The link for my 2008 Nomad 1600 is http://www.shoraipower.com/s-56732-Nomad-1600.aspx Kind of expensive but they supposedly have a 3+ year life. Worth a look.

Which Battery and Where to Get It
The cost would stop me from buying it for my bike. I was actually looking at it for use in a flat bottom rescue jon boat we have at my FD. We are looking to replace our gas motor with an electric. Nothing but trouble from the gas motors, electrics just run when you turn them on (assume trickle charger). The required twin 12V lead acid would weigh a ton.

Shorai does have calendar girls. That's a good thing. (at least the Shorai girls are not bad!) ;)
