lost my best friend

Sorry to hear about your loss Fish. Pets can definately take a piece of your heart with them. Had to do this with our girl almost a year ago. Still miss her. Here is a poem you might enjoy as you remember her.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Same thing happened to me and my wife a year and a half ago. Our dog of 10 years, Rocky, a Poodle-Pomeranian-Chihuahua-Pekinese mix, all 3 pounds of him died in my arms and it just killed me. All I told him that last hour was that Momma and Daddy loved him and we would see him again. I tear up just thinking about it. Jamie

Sorry about your loss Fish, our Jack Russell Terrier is 12 now and she always gives us unconditional love. A good friend is hard to say good-bye to.

It did me in Greg......and a month later I had to bury the 15 year old indoor cat. I honestly think he grieved himself to death after Lacy died. He just quit eating and went from about 18 lbs to next to nothing before he died. This was definitely a tough couple of months for myself and Darlene.

It is so hard to lose a best friend like that that shows true loyalty and companionship. I lost my best friend last year and know how you feel Ladybug was with me for almost forever so I know the hardship you are going through. (Best :'(lab in the world she was)

I'd like to thank all my brothers and sisters here for their kind words and letting me vent my grief. I usually keep things like this to myself but my wife isn't ready to hear the details and I had to get it out. I didn't think it would have affected me so much but it does. Thanks again, KawaNOW really is a big family :)

very sad day indeed.i lost both my dogs last summer withinn a two month period and i still haven't gotten over it.thet were both
11 years old and i have had them since they were pups.my new
best friend is now nine monthe old and i have to admit he is
winning a place in my heart.
