The 1400 intruder is a great bike and that one looks to be well equipped.
Back in 2001 I rode mine from Calgary to Whitehorse, on to Skagway, through the BC interior and back home in 2 weeks. |

Great! I had one in the form of an S83 boulevard. Decent power and great handling as well.

I have it also. I'm 62 now. It hit me when I was 36. Keep one thing in mind. When you talk to the doctors about this disease, a good majority of them are LAZY. OH: you have this medical problem, well this is the reason you have weakness or pain in your legs or feet. They just assume. They don't do the necessary mental gymnastics to get you the proper help. So you have leg weakness, or tingling in your feet. Did they ever mention your low back? Did they do a nerve conduction study to confirm the nerve health. I know I'm ranting, but I have been down this road. My legs and feet hurt like no end some times. Comes and goes. You have nephropathy. Like HELL I do. I have Spinal Stenosis. and it can give the same symptoms as nephropathy. So get the correct test done. A nerve conduction study.

1. Have a nerve conduction study. Been there, done that.
2. Was told I have neuropathy. Been there, told that. 3. Tested for diabetes. 2. Been there, medication for that. 4. Total knee replacements. Been there, got both. 5. Have leg cramps. Still there, live with that. 6. Still climb ladders for a living. Make decent money, so I do that. 7. Still ride a 900 pound bike. Yep, and I love that. 8. Have I ever dropped that 900 pound bike? NO, Thank the Good Lord for that. 9. At 57 how long will I being riding that beast? I don't know that. 10. Epstein didn't kill himself.

I am getting the studies done in January I go for the nerve study. Heck it is not the diabetes that beats me down the diabetes is controlled in me very well. It causes me no problem.
Put it this way you load a gun with a bullet and shoot it and it kills someone. The gun actually did not kill you it was the dam bullet. It is this way with the nerves in my legs the diabetes set it off that the end of the talk on diabetes for me. It is all in the legs and the feet the pain but I am learning to push past that. If you watch a movie I am a great boxing fan on Vinny Paz who beat Durran not once but twice if he can push past what he had to go through after his accident I can push past this pain and I am slowly doing it being able to try and forget about pain and work past it I have to. All I know is I am back and on two wheels and happy about that. It is not my Nomad and I miss that bike it was awesome but it is two wheels and I will make it mine by spring. Never say never I starting to learn that.

I was missing my 2007 Nomad this morning so thought I'd check out the site to see how everyone's doing. I too sold my Nomad because it outgrew me as I aged and required knee replacements, much easier to fix than what you have sadly encountered. A close friend who rides nationwide now owns my beauty and loves it.
A great deal on an ultra low miles 2005 Indian Scout enabled me to keep on riding. With that said, a new knee has helped and I find myself l checking out Craigslist to see what Nomads are going for these days. Congratulations on your find, the best to you and may you put many miles on your Suzuki. Duffy, I too was just diagnosed with that. Sometimes my feet are very painful, a common problem with diabetes. Since my blood work is very good the doc told me to start taking the vitamin B12.
