2010 Rally
If I would have said Best Western, you would have said Days Inn. I picked Days Inn because it is only 1.9 miles from the campground where those that chose to camp can stay, thus keeping us reasonably close. But I will Google the BW and see how close that is for you Joe.
The BW is a little over 4 miles from the campground and in the middle of town from the looks of the map. I will go with whatever the group decides either way.

2010 Rally
My two cents worth , I live in Staunton/ Verona about 20 minutes from the parkway in Waynesboro. I think that by staying in Waynesboro you will have a better central point for better rides than Luray, or Big Meadows. There are several Hotel chains in Waynesboro now or if we had to move towards Staunton due to occupancy there would be know problem. Classic1 And I are going to hook up this weekend to discuss some possible rides that may be of interest.

There is a campground at Waynesboro about 3 miles north of the downtown also:

I'm looking at doing the camping thing too - that and the Florida group ride up and back. Leeanne wants to ride her wing - do I have to get her a special pass to ride with the faster bikes?

Jim, unless you've taken the plug wires off all but about two of her cylinders she will have to sign an agreement to ride slow enough so we can keep up and then she can ride the wing.
I love the Nad but even my old 86 Aspencade (4 cyl/1200cc) would have smoked my Nomad. It sounds like we are going to have a camping crew this time. The Taminator better start hoarding those graham crackers right away!

Ross, you should have bought that turbocharged deal that was on Craigslist.

2010 Rally
Hey people, I'm looking into campgrounds and hotels in the Waynesboro area. Trying to find a campground and hotel somewhat close together in a little difficult around here. I'll get some prices on hotel rooms. The newer hotels are a little ways away from the campgrounds.

Hey Ron, I saw that and thought... cool, I wonder??? but then I thought I should get a 2KVulcan before they quit making them! Then I thought... eerrr maybe a Hyabusa.... and then I started thinking BigblockBossHog..... then I went for a ride in the Vette and got a speed fix and I was OK again! I actually like that the Nomad is "sedate and commfy" I think that trumps "runs like a scalded dog" 99% of the time.

I'll try to go by the Days Inn at Mint Springs, Staunton, VA. and see what they have to offer and I'll go by Walnut Hills campground too.
I think that the hotel and campground are about 3 miles apart. |

2010 Rally
OK. I just found out the bad news. I am a teachwer and this rally will take place the week of final exams and I WILL NOT be able to take off. Is it too late in the game or would it be possible to back it up one week. I not saying to do this just for me, but would it help anyone else out too?

Hey Classic, Was over at Waynes today and talked with Greg he said they would be happy to help support the rally (hats and stuff) and said he thought he could get the Kawa rep to pitch in to. By the way what is the name of the motel on 250 just off Hopeman pkwy heading toward Staunton? That might be a possbility.

I think it's a Budget Inn. I'm thinking that I read some on that one but can't remember.
