Great, not what I want to hear. I have not put them on yet but plan to next week. Then leaving for a 4k trip west in early August. I will be a very unhappy camper if this tire doesn't work out! I also bought dynabeads, will have 2oz in both the front and rear tires

Update.
After putting on a rear Commander II the bike is much more stable. It appears the new front Commander II was not the problem, it was the worn out stock Bridgestone on the rear. It does not follow road snakes like crazy anymore.

my dealer quoted me $200 for the Commander II 180/65-16. this was 2 months ago. I wanted one..... but he could find none of his suppliers that had any, I waited a month and he still said none had them.. all backordered. I told him I can have one within a few days myself from online, but as many, he won't mount what he doesn't sell. I settled for a Metzeler ME880 180/65-16, but he let me have it for $180. He only uses Dyna Beads for balancing. $75 to mount and balance.
Had 8100miles on the original rear stone.
I am really happy with the Metzeler and runs real smooth with the beads in it, but I really wanted a Commander II. Need to shop around for places that will mount without needing to sell the tires.

My local shop will mount tires they did not sell. He wont even try to compete with online prices for tires. $39 including tax for install and balance. You take the wheel off the bike and reinstall it yourself.

well, have a couple hundred miles on the tires, all is good. 2oz of dynabeads in the rear, 1oz in front. $80 for both tires installed, I delivered the whole bike, didn't just take in the wheels

Sounds like a good deal on the mounting and balancing. Did you install the Dynabeads or have them do it, and how do you like them? I thought you were going with 2 oz in each, why the change in the front? Isn't that what is recommended?

I gave the beads to the shop to install. He said he had a "wing guy" request it before. She feels smooth as silk...

toy4bob. $80 is a good deal. It took me about 3 hours to re and re both wheels for the first time. Might be quicker next time.

Yes 7000 is common, I had a Honda Valkyrie same story but when I switched to Dunlop Elites I got 11,000 out of the rear tire, couldn't find Elites for the Vaquero .
