Gregg,
Another warm welcome from the great Pacific NW. The only real issue you will have with the Nomad is whether to end your day ride at 350 miles....or go for another 100.... . How your bum fits the stock seat will be the deciding factor. The stock seat on the Nomad fits some okay and not so much for others....as it causes numb butt after fairly short periods for many riders. Most (but not all) have gone with aftermarket seats of some kind.

As you can see in the photo of my Valk I had the Ultimate King Big Boy seat to cradle my somewhat large butt. Stock seats rarely do it for me.

Who's saddles are recommended for the Nomad for folks of larger stature....

A lot of guys, like me, have gone with the Mustang.....some with the Russell Daylong (they swear by-em)....and I think Ultimate Seats is coming out with one for the Nomad (1600) this month. They may already have one for the 1500....not sure. Lots of options....

Made a deal over the phone with the seller of the silver and red 2000 Nomad 1500 FI I been thinking about. 6900 miles, tag paid till next May, original owner, service records and always garaged. Purported to be in perfect condition. Will be going to see it tomorrow after work and bringing it home if all checks out.
