I updated the original first thread to now include the route maps for the two-days of riding for those interested in seeing more detail of what we have planned.

This rally should be a lot of fun, so plan on coming if you can!

Let me, know if you have any questions.

NCR Rally 2012

I just made reservations in Savanna, Ill for June 7th also made reservations in PDC for the 8 & 9 To the leaders of the NCR group, you have no idea what it means to me to have this rally in honor of my wife, Melody. She would be the first to say that this kind of recognition is frivilous. I will be bringing along with me some of her remains so that she will be able to enjoy the rides along with our group. When we attended our first rally in 2011 it was in PDC, a place & event that her & I talked about many times. Riding the Nomad was her most favorite thing to do. The people we met in the NCR group has become lifetime friends. Looking forward to seeing everyone at this rally. We will have a great time just like Melody would want us to do.

Check the first post in this thread for the updated Rally brochure and maps. All the details are included in the brochure.

For those that haven't heard, some of us are meeting in Anamosa, Iowa (about 1 1/2 hours from Savanna, IL) at the National Motorcycle Museum on June 7th.

We plan on meeting at the museum at around 11:30 - 12 noon at the Subway in front of the Museum.

For those who will be in Savanna early on June 7th; we plan on departing from the base-hotel in Savanna at around 9:30-10AM. We should arrive in Anamosa at 11:30-ish... for lunch and a tour of the museum. Send a PM to me if you plan on riding from Savanna to Anamosa and have questions. Otherwise, we'll see those who are there at the time of departure.

Dave (BiscuitsNGravy) has a group headed from western Iowa to Anamosa. Contact Dave if you have questions or plan on joining that group's ride if you need details and pick-up points.

So far, we are having a fairly good showing of those wanting to add-in the "pre-rally-ride" to the museum.

Reservations are made at Poopy's for our "Meet-n-Greet" at 6PM June 7th in Savanna; and for Saturday June 9th at the Old Man River Restaurant and Pub in McGregor, IA for our finale dinner.

Overall, we currently have a slightly larger group than ever attending the rally. Speaking for those that have attended previous NCR rallies, we are happy to see a few new faces will be joining us for the weekend.

We sincerely hope everyone enjoys themselves.

We may try to make it to the museum, but would probably be an hour or two behind ya. Even if we leave our house at 6am, we would roll into Savanna probably closer to noon.

If you are six-hours from Savanna, it might be too tight on time for you to make it to the museum and then get back to Poopy's at 6PM. Anamosa is another 1 1/2 hours from Savanna.

However, if you don't plan on going to Poopy's for the "Meet-n-Greet" at 6pm (or coming late); then the museum is supposed to be worth seeing. It was originally located near Stugis, SD and moved several years ago to Iowa. The reviews of it are good. I have't been there before... so we'll see.

If you look at the brochure, you'll see a section where I provide some ideas on those who arrive early to Savanna. There are some great roads to ride on in that area. You could run up to Galena (worth seeing) via the River Ridge Road (Derinda Road) to Rt-20 at Elizbeth, and then take Rt-20 west to Galena. On your return trip, you can take Blackjack Road back to Rt-84 (? map not handy) on down to Savanna. (Be sure to stop at the Mississippi Palisades Park to go up to the lookout platform for a great view.)

You can get all of that done in plenty of time to be back by 6PM (with some extra time to relax a bit).

Let me know if you need any help or other ideas.

Many of us are arriving in Savanna the day before and heading to Anamosa in the morning after Greg and Don arrive. If you want to see the museum and can work it out that may be the way to go.

Oh ya, many thanks to Greg for all of his hard work in organizing our Rally and for just being the great guy that he is

So... "FLY"... are YOU going to make it?
