I am not attending the event, being about 3000 miles away but I just looked at the link to the motel and the Village of Baddeck. My gosh but what an exquisitely lovely area. I envy those of you who will be attending.

I've been considering sending my 07 Nomad out to my son's home in Bel Air MD so that I might once again ride in the east and this event surely weights the scale in favor of doing so.

Mike my signature pic was taken on the Cabot Trail, miles and miles around the coast with the ocean on one side and mountains on the other.

Beautiful Norm. I had to look up what the Cabot Trail is. It's stunning and whoops, now I've got another bucket list item and this one's right up at the top. I had no idea that something like this existed in Nova Scotia. We visited Nova Scotia years ago when I was stationed on an Ocean Going Minesweeper in Portland Maine and obviously saw a very little of it.

Mike, I live in NY State. I have a 2008 Nomad in excellent shape for sale.
It may be cheaper in the long run for you to buy my bike and store it at your sons than shipping yours to his house.
That way you would have a bike to ride where you live and one to ride when you came to your sons.

In the process of making my resev now. See they have rooms for $109 that are lake view else its the $119 mentioned in this sting of posts. Is there a reason we are not considering the lake view rooms? Just wondering while I wait for a call back.

As I understand it, there are two buildings. One has rooms with two double beds for one price and the other has rooms with one queen bed for a different price. One of the buildings is lake view and the other is not. Forget which is which, but that is why one price is lake view and the other is not. Has to do with the bed configuration, not the view of the lake. Maybe Norm can confirm. He's the one that worked with the motel.

I am not sure on the $109 rooms, I think they may be for a single person, one single or one double. When discussing with the owner Cathy we only talked rooms with one Queen @ $119 and rooms with two doubles @$129 as those are the most popular rooms our group usually wants. Ross, When you talk to her, let us know.

Made my Reservation. Took the Lakeview room at $109 for the 16th to the 20th. Cat said they pretty much the same as the single bed non lakeview rooms and that the $109 rate is only because I am just one person? So I think the only difference is 2 people and one bed is $119 while one person and one bed is $109 both plus tax. So I have a room and I will be there and when ya all know more about how you are going to get from Montréal area to Cape Breton let me know and if it works I will meet you on the way!

Well first off, I was talking to Ross
But since you answered, did she say please call me Cat, or did you take it upon yourself to be so informal with a stranger?
People call me "T" or "TC" or Tim never been called Top, don't think I would like that

Mr high up Feline, Her emails went from being signed Cathy to Cat and addressing me from Mr Ward to Norm, I’d Say that qualifies as being friendly.

Does the hotel have wifi and is it secured (they provide a password to login)? I can't find anything about wifi on the web site and they haven't responded to my email. I don't want to have to buy an international data plan for the week if I don't have to. I just need to be able to check emails.
