Voyager Fuel Filter

I used to run a convenience store in Northern Minnesota. Not that the place makes any difference it was just where. I learned that the worst time to fill up ( from Truckers) was during and just after they fill the underground tanks. Most pumps have little or no filters. The underground tanks have a 3-6" pipe up off the bottom of the tank where the fuel is drawn in. This is great since the water and floaty crap is usually not in that range. But during and shortly after the tanker drops off fuel it gets all stirred up. Pass that station and go to the next one.
I even ask what fuel they are dumping at the time if they are there when I arrive and which they have just filled. If it is My favorite = premium ( Vaquero) I move to the next station. Maybe a help to some?

+1 and agree with MBarr on the dont get gas if the tanker is there. I have even asked the driver which fuel they just dropped. If it is what I was planning on pumping, moved on. Year's ago, had a 650 Special (Yamaha - I called it the Yam-a-hammer due to the sound). Filled up at a station while the tanks where being filled. Was lucky that it had a see-through inline fuel filter. Needless to say, the evidence of MBarr's point was in that filter within a few miles and she ran like crap - even for a 650 Special. Dumped that gas, new in-line filter and lesson learned - the hard way...

Thanks for the instructions! I did this a couple weeks ago and filter was dirty as all the rest in photos. haven't rode bike as we are in the deep freeze in Minnesota, but anxious to see how it runs.

I just did this swap on mine this past week. Mike's step-by-step made it easy. Any time I do my own work, I can usually add a Pro Tip...
Pro-Tip: when replacing the tank back on the bike, and reconnecting the fuel line...be sure that the fuel line connector is ALL THE WAY on when you engage the snap-clip back in-place. Otherwise, when you first crank it up, the pressure from the fuel pump will force the fuel line off and gas will go everywhere. You can tip me later, I'll be here here all week, and oh yeah - try the veal
