Hot showers - you get done faster with cold water toilet paper - leaves and grass work nicely.

Nomad Camping
I camped a couple of times with the bike alone but now use the Tag Along trailer with a rack for a cooler. While I can rough it, I ask myself: why? For me its kind of like the iron butt thing. Yes I can, and have, driven 16 hours through driving rain and 35 degree temps. But again; why? I figure the things I do are supposed to be enjoyable. So I make them so generally.
I enjoy the creature comforts the trailer affords. A tent I can sleep four and walk around in. Mattress, table, chairs, light, stove, clothes, food, beverages and my archery stuff all neatly in a trailer you don't even notice is there. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

The Nomad's bags work for me quite well when traveling. I can get 3 gallon sized milk jugs into each bag easily (to give you an idea of space). I have saddlebag liners, which I think is a must. I can pack a weekend's worth of clothes in one bag, and use the other for things like shoes, toiletries, and tools. A cooler for cold drinks during a ride is a must. I have a small coleman one that fits a six pack easily, along with a good-sized lunch. I've often thought about how I would carry a tent and other supplies - probably a large bag on the back seat would handle most items I would need (kitchenware, lights, etc..). The tent, sleeping bag, pillows, mats and all that would be strapped to the saddlebag rails on each bag (they're not just for looks!). I've not done motorcycle camping, but Ann and I have take more than our share of weekend getaways on the bikes. We do grocery shopping after we get the bikes unpacked, and we can easily fit a weekend's worth of groceries for two people into the saddle bags.
