2010 Rally July 9, 10, 11th

I am going to get hotel info and prices just in case. I can't camp usually. Gotta have electricity for my cpap. IF I don't have that no body gets any sleep.

Test rides will be at a Rally Discount price of $100 per "short-ride"!! HA!!

I took a long two-day ride through the area where we are having the Central Region Rally. I tracked on several side roads leading in and out among the river bluffs on both sides of the Mississippi. I have also talked at length with a few riders I know that have mapped most of that area's best roads -- besides the ones I have already put together myself. I had a great two-day ride; and am looking forward to getting back there soon.

For those planning on coming to the rally; I do not believe you will be disappointed with the routes I am putting together.

There will be a good variety of road "types" to ride. There are going to be plenty of "twisties"; "sweeping-curved roads"; and "long-rolling roads" to meet just about anyone's taste in riding. Most all of these rides are going to have great vista views to enjoy while riding.

I will work over the next several months to put the route maps together so all can see the variety of rides they can choose from.

As I have said before, the area in and around Prairie du Chien, WI provides some of the best riding one can find in the Midwest on both sides of the Mississippi River.

Hope some of you guys can plan on being there.

I'd like to try and come to the rally any idea of the hotels in the area. Will you all stay at the same place our have a meeting area for the rides.

Hey Sarge...

That would be great if you could make the trip. A hotel hasn't been chosen just yet. Unfortunately there are not many great choices in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. By that I mean... that there are only a couple "chain" hotels, and the rest are mom-n-pop operations that didn't look too promising to me. So... likely we would look to stay at one of the chain-hotels -- none of which have a good place to gather in the evenings.

So... this detail has yet to be finished. I hope to have this done as the weather freezes-up here in the Midwest. In the meantime I have been spending all my spare time riding while we still have the chance to do so.

I am hoping we get more of a response of interest than what I have seen so far. We'll just have to see.

Thanks for the response ,as it stands right know I'm planing on making the trip. I'm looking forward to the rides along the Mississippi I had planed to do some of it on my way to Sturgis this past summer but with some of our trouble we choose a different rout.

Thanks for the offer to help. So far I could use some on this project.

Give me some time yet to get what I have together so far so I can share what I have and determine what needs to be done yet.

Regarding your employment... you smiled after that comment. Is that a good thing?.. ...or does it mean that you'll have some extra time to help?

Didn't want to say anything until it was confirmed but I it is now official. I will not be able to attend the regional rally. My wife is pregnant with our third child. She is due May 25 so running out to a rally and leaving mom home with 3 kids, all under 4 years old, would not be well received.

I will be attending the next National. Well at least this type of thing won't come up again. Daddy is gettin snipped.

I will miss not being there. It looks like a beautiful place and I was really looking forward to seeing Greg and Kendra again. Had alot of laughs in Custer. I was looking forward to getting to meet the rest of you that didn' make to Custer or that I missed while there. I heard rumors of Deal's Gap being a potential site for the next national and if so I may be coming through that way so we could possibly hook up and ride down. That is a long way off though.

Regarding you not making it OP; sorry to hear that; but at the same time congratulations to you and your's on having your third. Sounds like your time is going to become a bit more occupied over the next several years.

We'll just have to try to have fun without you I guess!

Congrats OP. I had my first three kids in 2 years 4 months. It took some years before I could ride again, but here I am. As far s getting snipped, I don't like a doc messing with man land http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0603565/.

The most uncomfortable part isn't the actual surgery -- nor the "doc" that is in there working away while you are completely nude and spread-eagled across the table...

...but rather the female nurses that are standing over the doc's shoulder handing him the equipment he needs to do his job!

They gave me a couple valium (sp?) prior to arriving... so I really didn't care too much about who was looking at what by then.
