This is two parts, first the clutch pack is now new, and have always ran valvoline 20w50 synthetic motorcycle oil, it has worked great in my harley and other kawasaki's also, shouldn't have been an issue in my experience, the second part, is that as long as I've been on this forum I have never read anything about the pull, but that being said I have talk to judge on the phone, and he never said anything about the pull either but I had the spring bought already so he suggested to try it, which I have, where I go from here is yet to be determined, we'll see. Thanks for everyone's input I appreciate it.

I think you will find that all the springs are the same now,and have been for some time.

Sorry Mick but your number is for the generic spring.

The 02/03 Meanies were the only true factory hotrods.

The spring from this engine is far and above all the other factory units.

Use the 02/03 MS spring the 1449 part number.

I've done it too many times.

I had the 1449 spring in my '03' Mad for 20K and no slippage at all. No extra lever pull. Works great.

Thanks everyone for the info, this has been a good thread in my opinion. It will open the eyes of one's thinking about the Barnett spring. I think it is a good spring for extra grip, like two up and pulling a trailer, I think if I did this I would leave it in and deal with the extra pull on the hand grip. But I've had this in the bike for about a week and I have determined that I think I'm going to back up and get the mean streak spring and washers. When I do I'll post back on my experience with all this, Thanks again. Also thanks for the part numbers and usage, very good info. For future riders send them to this post And I think it will clear things up for there decision .

Thumbs Up

Yes I too tried that and removed it with a replacement Mean Streak Spring, along with new OEM washers.
Just didn't like the feel - especially when down shifting.

Once inside the clutch I replaced the Friction plates also.

So I am hoping for some useful thoughts or ideas. My other question will be does the mean streak washer set up have this much handle pull. Because I thinking the clutch master and slave Cylinder wern't designed for this, soon I'll be blowing out seals.

I would have thought those meat hooks of yours could pull the clutch with coil springs off a Buick!

From experience, use lots of grease to hold the Judges Washers in place when installing.
