Will get a hold of you for a little winter project that I've been kicking around, a gauge panel for the new fairing. Thinking of something a bit more elaborate than the current one, plus using analog gauges (tach, voltmeter, oil pressure, coolant temp). The Dakota Digital tach is cool but virtually impossible to read in bright sunlight.

Sorry to hear the news on the mishap. I'm glad you're OK .....I'm sure you'll like the new paint when thats all done.

I've been wondering who, if anyone is planning or would like to plan to attend the rally in Orofino Idaho in July next summer. You can get all the info here @

http://www.vulcanbagger.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=34942

There has been a little talk of possibly gathering a Canadian contingent to ride down together. I'm sure we can decide on a general meeting place or two. Jump in here if you think you might be able to make it. Right now John "Bdog" has mentioned he might be able to make it. I haven't committed yet but I'm leaning strongly on going, at this moment.

Rick, that new Avatar of you looks a little chilly ... up at 108? Rain has returned to the lower mainland, so looking forward to seeing the sun again about April. Bought an excavator last week, as I plan to dig holes in my retirement. Two flights to go ...
Al

Orofino, beautiful area. Most likely won't be able to make it though.
Put the Kaw in the barn a couple of weeks ago.
On to winter hobbies now, mainly thumping away on bass guitar and doing some photography. Not good at either but keeps me out of trouble for the most part.

Well keep it mind ....things change. I can't commit totally yet but it looks like I'll be going. maybe there'll be a Canadian contingency heading down. I'm hoping John /"Bdog" will get the all clear and be able to come down too.

Hey Al.....are you retired yet?? You mentioned there being only 2 more flights a while back.

Cleaning my garage would be worse than a full time job. Its packed with so much crap that you can hardly move in it. I suppose one day I'll have to purge, but I'm not looking forward to all that work.

Ok ...group,.....going to bring this up again to see if there's been any more thought as to going to Orofino. I just booked my room for the rally ...I'm still not 100% committed to going unfortunately. I'm waiting to here when some friends will be here in the summer. The guy is also a member and went to the Custer rally with me.
I'm hoping he'll be able to make the ride. I don't really like the idea of riding that far alone on the bike and I'm wondering if and how many others might be going or want to go but aren't sure yet. Unfortunately Bdog isn't able to make it, but "lomax" is/was considering going...so hopefully I can hook up with him.
Anyways,.... i wanted to resurrect this thread and see what you're all thinking as far as making the trip. The snow/winter will be over sooner than we realize.

Ricky,
Check with Hammer as I know he's going but I don't know what his travel plans are.

As for Eagle Eye and I, we plan to head south on the 19th and will probably stay in Sandpoint & Kendrick on the way down to Orofino. Maybe we could meet up with you somewhere along the way, depending on your intended route.

Edited: Plan now is to stay at Chewelah, WA on the 19th where we will meet up with Hammer, a340driver, Lomax and his son. Next night in Clarkston, WA.
