first winter snow[ oh yuk ]

I like winter and deep snow. I get to play outside in it, but I want summer too, and was cheated. My garden didn't do well, and it isn't a little play garden to us anyway. 60 x 100 is pretty big for no power tools.

Sugarin wasn't very good last Spring either. The year before wasn't too good either, but was better than the last.

That first year here I hung out 15 buckets in the hope for a good year and got 4+ a little gallonsof maple sugar syrup. My goal was 5 gallons.

Last year with the same goal I hung 35 buckets and made 3+ gallons.. You see where this is going?

If I have to hand out 70 buckets to get a mere 5 gallons I am gonna me mad.

Some years back in the mid 90's I guess, with 22 buckets the most I ever had at the time I make 11 gallons.

With the prices for fuels and parts these days, plowing is a no win situation. Everyone wants to pay 1965 prices. The Govt wants us all in mini cars getting 70 MPH. That might be, but who is gonna plow the snow, and what with?

I don't care what you drive, when the snow is 5 or 6 feet deep ain't nuthin goin' nowhere!

Thar's tales of about how it is out there Seems about like that here to me sometimes.

In Fall it is "Oh how pretty, everthing is in all white, and 6 inches deep. With in 3 days another 6 inches happens, and it is like; This stuff is great i can build a snow man, and go xc skiing.

A week later you get a foot, and are thrilled you can go down hill skiing.

2 days later, you get 2 feet and run around like a mad man taking pictures of everything covered in 4 feet of snow.

Day and a half later, it snows 2 feet again and you can't find your yard furnishings anymore.

It is only late November now
