I installed Cobra True Duals with Billet Tips on my bike last year. The install was easy and straightforward. The sound is tame when idling or cruising. They only growl when you roll on the throttle.

When you say dragged them, is that because the sit lower than the stock pipes or a larger diameter? Or could it just be 'enthusiastic riding'??

I can't be sure as they were on the bike when I bought it (no frame of reference). Pretty sure the diameter is bigger than stock pipes at the end. Also believe they're a bit longer than the stock ones. It's only the very end of the pipes that drag occasionally so probably more the length than anything. Have to admit it tends to happen more when I'm feeling "enthusiastic"

Do you have the stock shocks? Are you a big guy (or ride 2 up) and have them aired down?

It's not that big a deal and I'm not trying to fix my once in a while pipe drag. It's only done it a couple times (literally) on hard corners and at speed. It's usually the curb/gutter thing and I just keep it in mind. I just thought I'd mention it so the OP would have all my personal details regarding one of the two types of pipes he was considering. Good that you brought it up though. Obviously I had left out some particulars.

Cobra or V & H??
Thanks everyone for your honest replies. Looking towards the Cobra with billet tips at present, they are a very nice looking pipe!! Loudness of either brand seems very subjective to the user, as the comments go either way.
Just need to now find someone who is willing to ship them to me here in Oz for a reasonable price!!

Well, my brother had the V&H on his Nomad and I have the Cobra Slashdowns on mine. They both sound great but not obnoxious. You should be happy with either choice. I chose the Cobras because I did not like the unfinished look to the one heat sheild that stops as the pipe turns under the bike. Been very pleased with the Cobras.
