Hey Pastor , only the one's who have never tried it say its a bad idea . If you have the right size tire and its installed properly . you will never put MC tire on the back again . P.S I put mine on and im Mechanicly challenged.

Put 1 on (195 60 16) about 900 miles ago and enjoyin it so far. Can't tell any (absolutely none) difference n the way it handles. Just haven't been brave enough 2 try twisters yet, my mind tells me it's not goin 2 b the same as with a m/t.

I'm running a Bridgestone Turanza 195/60-16 on my '05 1600. I'm loving it. Twisties are no issue at all. I feel like the c/t grips better than the m/t. But, I'm probably a little bias.

Pastor, I had a conversation with a guy that got a little "uncomfortable" when I was installing my c/t at the mc shop. Basically he was calling me stupid and an idiot for doing it, but I was the superior being and put him in his place before it got out of hand. Basically he had never tried it or even heard someone using a c/t. He was just a little outspoken and quick to voice his own stupid opinion before he thought. That's usually what the naysayers do.

well i went on the darkside about 1000 km ago and did not notice a diff, in handling what so ever. I actually feel more comfortable when pitching the bike into the corners .

Went to the Darkside about 2-3 months ago. So far no issues except the slight curves that felt a little wierd to me. Takes about a week to get used to. Older highly crowned roads, or one old highway around here that has alot of tractor trailer traffic are the only roads that are not the same to me. Its some effort to maintain control if the road is really rough and grooved imo. I ride in town and interstate most of the time back and forth to work, so it's great for those rides. Still think you have to use a little more body lean in the curves than with a conventional tire, but it becomes norm after about 200 miles, or did for me.

Running the GYTT on mine, and I'm not going back to a regular moto tire. Very happy with the TT in the rain also, had my first downpour coming home from work last week, handled like a dream.

Welcome to the Darkside!!

You'll love the EL-400. Of the three car tires I've had on Nomad in 43K miles, I liked the EL-400 the best.

Why have u needed 3 c/t in 43k? Thought u should have gotten that on oem and 1 c/t.

I was wondering the same thing. Most reports are 20K plus on the CT. I've got 5,000 on mine and it still looks new.

Well, the first one, Dunlop SP, had 1MM left to the wear bars at 16K miles. My fault for over inflating and wore the center tread out way too fast.
2nd, Verdestein Quatrac 2 had puncture at approx 15K miles. Plugged it and ran for another couple thousand miles. Had slow leak so replaced it with the EL400 which was on the bike when I sold it.

Due to the roads I ride.....riding style or whatever, I've never got more than 9K miles out of any rear motorcycle tire on the four bikes I've owned since I moved to the N Georgia mountains ten years ago. OEM Dunlop on Harley lasted 9K. OEM Stone on the Nomad at 5,050 miles. Wore out OEM Bridgestone on Yamaha Stratoliner in 4,200 miles.

I've never expected to get 25-30,000 miles out of a car tire. Don't really care. If I can get mid-teens or more for a $100 tire....I'm happy.
