To use on metrics need to tap existing metric screw hole on throttle cable plate to 1/4-20.

redeye.....recheck yours. If it is the same, re-tapping is not a big deal. Just pay attention to keep tap straight.

Don't know if roller ball or not.
Not 100% sure but I believe the procedure is; re-tap, install screw, spring, star wheel.....adjust wheel to feel "light" pressure, back off a tad, use lever to engage. The "screw within a screw" is screw into star wheel under spring pressure.
Like Harley's, it doesn't take much pressure to hold

Could someone post a pic of all the parts in the kit before they do the installation?

Sure,

As soon as I get it I'll post pics of the parts and the installation process since there is so much interest in it.

The current hole in the bottom of the throttle housing is too small to use a 1/4-20 NC Tap. YOU DO have to drill the hole out to accept the tap, otherwise I think the tap might crack the housing. Just my $00.02 -Rich

Rich and all,

I will have mine in a day or two, and I will let you know exactly what has to be done to install it. I will take pictures of the process and do a little write up and post it in BD's Garage. I will be mounting it on an 05 1600 VN.

I agree the existing hole is too small to simply re-tap. I am interested in understanding the contact point. If this can eat the nylon cable holder, adjusting speed ON, sooner or later it could eat the cables too.

If there is a roller like a ink pen uses but bigger that might work out well. I suppose if the contact is higly polished that might work as well.

The price is right!

On the one I bought, the point of the locking bolt is pointed, kinda like a large idle jet screw on a Eldelbrock Carb. No polish or roller point. -Rich

Fort a 1/4-20 I'd use a 13/16 drill.

What? Not unless you wanna stuff 3 of them 1/4-20's in the hole! 1/4-20 requires a #7 drill, which is .201" dia. but in aluminum you could use a 3/16" and just wiggle it a little as it's only .014" undersize.

PS: that pointy screw sounds like a bunch of trouble waiting to happen.

What's it screwing into? Plastic? The throttle cable? This can't be right.

If the pointy screw pushes against the cable it would wear it and may even break the strands as Macmac pointed out.
