You'll still need gas, just not that much.

Now for REAL great mileage you'd need to retrofit a Chrysler Turbo Encabulator.

Ya know I did a little exersise once when i was young and silly (now just old and stupid),I added up all the fuel savings of all the fuel saving gadges I could find on the market to fit to my car and had I fitted them all my car would of ended up saving more fuel than it could use.

Anyway how did we get here?

Back around 2002-2003, had a friend who bought into some hype about putting tablets of something or other in your vehicle gas tank in order to eek extra mpg out, despite several reports saying they did nothing. He bought some and swore it worked. Tried to convince him it was crap and any mpg difference was due to his driving habit changes, not the pills. He had worked his way up and was a retail store mgr (I was too...same chain, different location). He quit that job to sell those pills. Surprisingly enough, he had to start over with another company from the bottom within a month or two. Sometimes "common sense" isn't common.

I'm not really a fan of how a magnetic tankbag will look on a bike. I think that it looks a little weird and tacky, however in my search for roll bags and sissy bard bags, I did stumble across these ones that I'll share.. http://www.motorcyclehouse.com/motorcycle-luggage.htm They're some good options there, but personally I would keep a small roll bag or swing arm bag instead of a tank bag... ruins the look!

Also, fuck those MPG pills. Costco once sold those in bulk and I bought them... Needless to say, they're useless.

Thanks for the link. I tend to aggree, tank bags do look a bit daggy. I guess I am trying to convince myself its the way to go, and save a few bucks. I haven't got a luggage rack behind the sissy bar so looks like I will have to bite the bullet and spend some cash. Thing is here in oz most of the add on stuff for our bikes has to come from the US and shipping costs is the killer.

Just noticed they ship from Australia!

Who cares how you look?

I suppose if you are riding in a style-show it would matter; but certainly if you are taking long rides requiring extra baggage space you are not is a style-show and shouldn't care less about how you look. Geez... Not trying to be a smart-ass, but really -- who gives a crap how you look?

If you want to use a tank bag, (and can get over how you look to anyone else) and are worried about paint scratches, you can buy some 3-M vinyl-paint protector sheets to cover the paint area. It is not that expensive, it is easy to apply, is easily replaced, and solves that problem.

Good luck, and don't pay attention to how you look... otherwise you will have to figure out how to carry an iron with you, like BD does...

Re-sell value only for those that give a crap about looks. The dealer also suggested I buy a color that will be easier to sell in a few years. They (and others) suggested the color I wanted will be less appealing to buyers than a red color.

Resale? You should buy the color you want, it is what you will be riding for a few years. Buy the bike to enjoy not worry about selling it later.

Seriously... the color I did want was a color everyone told me would not be re-sold as easy as a more typical color. Given the prices of the bike... trade-in value makes a big difference. At least is has for me so far...

I typically buy black bikes. Why? Because they are less expensive. However this time I decided I was tired of dealing with a black bike. So a color was an option. I like my dealer and believed his advice to me; as I did with the few people I discussed this with prior to buying the bike. It, basically, was a unanimous decision by everyone I talked to about it. Thus, I have what I have.

As an added note, the bike I wanted is still sitting on the show-room floor. While that color sold like wild-fire at first, the interest in it apparently has subsided. Maybe the dealer knows what he is talking about...

I have used magnetic tank bags on 4 bikes . Never a scratch. It is simpe: don't put it on a dirty tank or slide it around. They make life simple for: hats, cameras, maps, gloves etc that you want quick access to. Mine are waterproof so when it starts raining i throw wallet and cell in without stopping.

Posers worry about looks. LOL

How I look? Ya missed the point. I'm ugly, like a hat full of a--holes. I'm beyond help mate. Its the fit of the bags on the bike I don't like much. It looks daggy to me. If I wanted a daggy looking bike I would of bought one. Just looking for options or ideas.
