Mick I think you have a slightly mis guided view of the roads over here. In most areas, We have straight highways with few curves for getting places in a hurry and plenty of back roads and secondary highways that by pass the big slab highways with lots of twisties for taking a days ride. I live in the mountains so there is few flat roads and no straight roads.

Do a Google search for "Iron Mountain Road" in the Black Hills Mick. 99.9% of the roads in this state (South Dakota) are straight as an arrow and 330 miles long but there are a few that are pretty good.
