Those trim pieces were about $50 each from the dealer a few years ago. I can only imagine they are more expensive today, if you can even get them. Might be able to find someone on here who needs some and might throw you a few bucks for them.

Reguarding repairing the trim piece with contact cement ... I had a thought, if you remove the saddle bag and lay it on it's back, it will be easier to work on, rather than trying to make the repairs on the bike... Just a thought

One of mine started coming off the other day. Then it got caught on my pants as I was walking by and it bent. F**k it. Just took them off. Warmed them up with a hair dryer and used a plastic razor to pry them off. I pulled them off very slowly so that most of the glue would stay on the trim. Then a little Goo Gone to get the rest of the adhesive off.
Then I got really adventurous and de-badged the tank as well. |
