That's too funny!! I don't see why anyone would be bothered with bringing up older subjects. Might help us get some new ideas instead of Nico's typical drivel.

What size tire....?

What difference does it make if you bring the same topic up twice you will get different response from everybody the second time anyhow and if somebody doesn't want to read it again they don't have to open it just my nine dollars and seventeen cents

I think members should feel free to bring up any issue, even if it has been discussed before. If someone doesn't want to participate or respond don't. No one is forcing you, if you don't want to discuss it again, don't, go to the next thread. This should be an open forum, not dominated by people who participate all the time, that's my opinion and I am sticking to it.

From what I can tell it usually better to bring up the same topic several times. Threads get hijacked by a few clowns and the original question is lost. Usually takes several discussions to get an answer. Back off the newbies. We need new blood.

Yeah, yeah, I still love you old smelly farts who hijack the discussions. God only knows why. Must have something to do with no real life friends.

If you were at a motorcycle hang out and got talking with a group of people about bikes, they don't say, "hey we already talked about this a couple of months ago." They just continue the conversation.

This board in general is different than most that I've participated on, in that anything discussed in prior months is off limits; no matter how many new members join.

I propose that we do it like it is done in real life. At work if 20 new guys start working and bring up a subject at lunch that has already been discussed a few months ago, people don't say, "hey, we already talked about this a few months ago." They just talk.

Boards change depending on what new members show up, and what old ones drop off. Lets just chat with each other, even if it's been done before.
Dan,
I agree with you but have to say that I've not had any flack or negative feedback from forum members for asking what turned out to be already-discussed issues. Maybe I've just been lucky and got the nice one's or maybe the not so nice one's have become frustrated and have elected to not participate on the forum any longer. Who knows???

FWIW, for me personally, I don't mind someone asking a redundant question. If I have an answer or know someone who does, I'm only too happy to forward the info.

I guess a good deal of us here are so motorcycle crazy that repeating topics and conversations about something we're so passionate about is not a problem at all.

Thanks for bringing this up though. It's also a timely way to remind everyone to play nice in the forum sandbox!

Cheers,
Daryl

I think, in general, no subject has been considered off limits, even if it's a repeat subject. We're all adult enough, with some noteable exclusions, to treat everyone here with not only respect but compassion and understanding when they ask a question, even if it's been discussed before.

Sure we may hijack it somewhat, but the answer is out there. I also think it's great that Wolfman so easily pulls up the original discussion(s) because it helps the person asking see where we've talked about it before and then see what people are saying about it now. Funny thing is, over a six month period some information changes or people with new info contribute to the restated question.

If you want the downright honest truth, if someone here responded to a previously stated question with a nasty attitude or a condescending comment, they would hear it from enough of us they would either leave or apologize. My $5 worth.
