IF it happens for me I'd like to join up with fish or Ole Dawg or Donquer and split the gas trailering there. It would be easier on us old guys.

right now on the travel channel (277 on direct TV) they are doing a segment on Mt Rushmore and the Black Hills. Looks like an awesome place

Custer is a great location, I hosted a VROC rally there in 2006.
I love the riding the Hills and know them quite well. The Custer Chamber of Commerce will be a great help if you contact them. The motels are spread out but the Rock Crest Lodge let us use their large lot as Rally central.

It is marked on my calendar and I am ready.

OK, since this is the real "Custer Rally" thread I had to bump it. We were getting totally O.T. in the other rally threads.

Anyway, until I searched for, found, and read this one I didn't realize that the dates were so late in the year. My wife goes back to work Aug 18th, so taking off more than an odd day here and there is strictly out of the question for her. I'm afraid anything in September is totally un-doable for us.

(And before anybody says I should just come without her, forget it. I like her a lot more than I like you guys.

On a vacation, without her, I'd be totally miserable.)

Aw heck, only 1906 miles for me. We'll have to form up posses from our regions and ride out there en mass. I'll have to start planning this one now, but it sure sounds like a lot of fun.
