If that hill had been any steeper, physics would have had him tumbling ass over tea kettle all the way down. Not the kind of rush I'd look for.

Perfectly legal in TX, was talking to the guy about the shotgun, when a state trooper pulled up...he asked if they dude would build him a similar mount for his AR15!

Because you are on a motorcycle which makes you stand out,add to that you have a weapon in plain sight which may or may not be loaded and is a short barreled shotgun which may be to short to be legal.
If that isn't enough reason for a LEO to go on a fishing expadition I don't know what is.
The police generally leave us alone, and know that most of us carry...a shotgun in East TX is more common than a motorcycle...I live in a rather sparsely populated area ....if you count the 2 major cities in our 3 county area, there might be 150K...

I have ridden with a bowling ball tied down on the back seat and if used right you could do a lot of damage and even kill someone with it.
NICE!

I carry every where I go and on the bike is no exception. I have been wanting to get a Rossi Ranch Hand and put it in a scabbard on the front forks like the old WW2 Army Bikes. But I don't want the added attention!! I already wear a vest with my LE club information all over it and the added long gun on the bike would just draw too many looks...LOL
;-) One thing I have noticed...when dad carries he waves at officers... (but he is just a motorcycle owner)

It's too slow to aceess and vulnerable to the elements. Think about the set up i laid out below. Personally, i am a much bigger advocate of the carbine over the shotgun in my experience. Why not just mount a scabbard for transport and quick access then use a cable lock for security when parked. You could just secure the trigger guard or even go through the receiver ejection port and around the frame.

Hammer would work. What about a sling shot? You could use that while you were moving.

Actually, I like a roofing hatchet best. I used to be able to throw those pretty good.

I wondered about that spot also. I'm really surprised everyone didn't jump all over that and hijack the thread.

Years ago I saw an article about a Honda Valkyrie that had a shotgun somehow camouflaged into the bike's handle bars. It was parked and spotted by LE at a federal park and instantly impounded. - Be careful

Can't do what I want with a pistol grip and that short barrel (not very well anyway). I'm a big fan of skeet, trap, and sporting clays and would like to be able to ride my bike to the local range. My gun would have to be cased though. I don't want road grime on it. Toying around with some ideas but nothing concrete yet.

I've ridden my bike on shoot days several times before, but had one of my buddies carry my guns and ammo for me in his truck. I like to be self-reliant.

A trailer would solve your problem, plenty of room for gun and ammo.....
